Ekvili is a Slovak brand of children's footwear. At the time the identity was created, it was a newly emerging project by experts from Prodatik.
For more than three decades they have been working in orthopedic prosthetics, and they decided to channel that experience into their own brand — specifically, children's footwear.
When entering the project, the client already had a basic vision for the brand and an established name — ekvili. It is derived from the word equilibrium / balance, and the entire brand revolves around exactly that. Naturally, orthopedic footwear pays close attention to the body's balance, but this whole segment seems to forget about another kind of balance — the balance between health benefits and design. And this is precisely the point at which ekvili wanted to enter the market: to bring shoes and slippers that delight not only a child's foot, but also a child's soul.
This entire philosophy is embodied in several assets, from the slogan "For playful and healthy feet!", through the mascots Eka and Vili (Eka represents playfulness and Vili health), the chosen complementary colors, all the way to the symbol, which is centrally symmetrical and therefore in visual balance.
With all of these assets, care was of course taken to ensure that they were not only consistent with the concept, but that they also made sense in terms of differentiation from the competition, while at the same time being easy to use and apply under the conditions of a fledgling brand. Great emphasis was also placed on the shoebox design, which in this segment has strong potential for UGC.
